The Circularity and Natural Rhythm of life

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather, including the Ramona area, is the traditional, unceded territory of the Kumeyaay and Luiseño/Payómkawichum peoples. We honor and pay respect to their elders, past, present, and emerging, as they continue their stewardship of these lands and waters.

The Polaris Foundation

The Polaris Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN: 88-3978909) stewarding 130 acres in Ramona, California into a living classroom for regenerative agriculture, nature therapy, and ecological wellness. We welcome site visits and inquiries by appointment via contact@thepolarisfoundation.org or DM our social media.

Our
Philosophy

"Nurturing Lands; Healing Minds"

We believe that most human suffering - isolation, burnout, conflict - comes from three broken bonds: between people and the land, between people and each other, and between a person and themselves.

Drawing from Chinese medicine and Taoist philosophy, we reconnect these bonds through embodied practice and shared dialogue. We offer a living curriculum without walls. Our classroom is 130 acres of wild California terrain: canyons, ponds, stone shelters, and uncultivated land.

The same hands that learn to read soil and seasons also carry the skills to navigate complexity, uncertainty, and change. We cultivate attention, belonging, and resilience, not by turning away from the present, but by grounding ourselves in something that outlasts it.

Programs and Initiatives

Our Milestones and
Active Timeline

Regenerative Permaculture & Agroecology

Transforming 130 acres of wild land into an educational polyculture landscape. We conduct ongoing soil health restoration, climate-adaptive orchard studies, rainwater capture, and hands-on workshops in food forestry and habitat conservation.

Nature Therapy and Community Healing

Providing a restorative sanctuary where local community members, veterans, and individuals with sensory and developmental needs can connect with the land. Activities focus on mindful observation, guided nature walks, and grounding physical stewardship.

Traditional Wisdom and Integrative Health

Integrating classical holistic health philosophies—including the study of natural seasonal rhythms from texts such as the Huangdi Neijing—with herbal medicine cultivation. In collaboration with regional practitioners and institutions, our future initiatives include co-hosted community acupuncture and preventative wellness clinics.

2024 Acquisition & Stewardship

Secured 130 acres at 14352 Mussey Grade Road. Restored well and water irrigation systems, built an all-season greenhouse and poultry facilities, and conducted botanist-led baseline ecological site assessments.

2025 - 2026 Community Outreach & Research

Initiated regenerative earthwork and trail stewardship with community volunteers, began microclimate and orchard research, and engaged regional partners to launch outdoor healing and ethnobotany workshops. Hosting summer camps for nature exploration and mindfulness practice on site.

2026 - 2027 Landscape Planning and Facility Modification

Permitting and development of an open-air Community Gathering Pavilion to expand educational seminars, practitioner clinics and volunteer gatherings. Designing for 30-year plan for current and future climate, based on regenerative ecological practices to optimize resource efficiency. Acquiring and plant resilient species for restoration, beautification and food forest.

Organic, fresh,
delicious.

An over 3-acre vineyard provides an abundance of grapes, and we look forward to the delicacies recently planted apple, pear, fig trees, and berry bushes will bring us in the future.
